About

Hi, I’m Gary!

I am a full-stack web developer. I love working on and with APIs for new features or integrations. I always ensure the views are clean and the functionality is solid.

My background

With over a decade of experience working with the LAMP stack, I bring a deep understanding of web development, and SEO best practices, especially within the Wordpress and Magento platforms. I've also dabbled in the MEAN stack, working with Node.js and MV* architectures. My focus is always on identifying the right technology solution for each project, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.

I follow the Agile development methodology, utilizing detailed note-taking and clear task organization to maintain momentum and efficiency. By implementing consistent conventions and a structured workflow, I can stay on top of tasks and deliver results on time.

How I Work

I believe that strong organization is key to productivity. I have experience with project management tools like Asana, Trello, and Jira, and I complement these with old-fashioned note-taking to break complex projects into manageable tasks. My approach involves structuring work into weekly sprints, with detailed notes for each task, ensuring clarity on responsibilities and dependencies.

I’m particularly mindful of how tasks can evolve, often uncovering sub-tasks with unique challenges. Staying alert to the implications of each task allows me to raise concerns early and collaborate effectively with stakeholders to resolve issues before they escalate.

Attitude

Freelance work has fostered a self-driven mindset, one that thrives on initiative and creativity. I’ve found that work can be both rewarding and enjoyable, especially when it aligns with your passions and helps others succeed. I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with clients who value the contributions I bring to the table.

One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is that it’s never too late to start fresh. When a project becomes overly complicated, stepping back and reevaluating can lead to more efficient solutions. Sometimes, the best path forward is to reconsider the original approach and find a cleaner, simpler way to achieve the desired outcome.

While time is always a factor, I believe quality should never be compromised. If you appreciate clean, user-friendly interfaces and have a project in mind, I’d love to collaborate and bring your vision to life!
